Sydney To The Outback

Charley Boorman

The first cab off the rank, so to speak, is the opportunity to go on an incredible ride that’s being led by Charley Boorman.  Charley is a true life adventurer who, with his colleague, Ewan McGregor shot to prominence with “Long Way Round” and “Long Way Down” motorcycle epics. Charley has continued to do amazing rides around the world.

The ride will depart from Sydney, and then head to western NSW.  We will ride through the Blue Mountains and onto Bathurst, the location of the Mount Panorama motor racing circuit.

Next stop is Parkes and then onwards to Eldee Station, which is just north of Broken Hill. Two days is spent at Rawnsley Park Station before heading down into the wine region of the Barossa Valley.

We’ll ride through the Coorong National Park before heading back to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road.

During rides across Africa I’ve chosen BMW 1200GS’s.  There are some offroad sections to this particular ride, so I’ve opted this time for the BMW F800.   Looking forward to seeing how it goes.
