  • Fancy Gap KOA (formerly foxtrail family campground)

    On top of Fancy Gap Mountain in the cool mountain air of Virginia, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile post 199.5, Exit 8 of I-77 and US52) lies the serene setting of the Fancy Gap KOA. Blue Ridge Parkway is a fantastic ride for bikers!!! Two miles off I-77 and 1/2 mile off Blue Ridge Parkway. We provide camping for travelers, hikers, and adventurers of the parkway as well as those who come to enjoy the great outdoors. We are close to Mount Airy, home of Andy Griffith, the Autumn Leaves Festival and Mayberry Days. Labor Day in Hillsville is the annual Gun/Antique and Flea Market which attracts thousands from all over the central southeast. We also boast the annual “Old-Time Fiddlers Convention” in nearby Galax, VA. This is the oldest and largest gathering of blue grass music lovers in the world. The brand new Blue Ridge Music Center on the Parkway has weekend concerts and jam sessions throughout the week with local musicians. You can also enjoy some family time at the New River Trail State park where you can bike, hike or canoe. Stay with us at the campground and sit by the fire, fish in the pond, enjoy the many varieties of birds and just relax. We know the value that a family campground provides to vacation and leisure time. We are dedicated to our campers, and the quality of life in our campground is our priority.

    We are a biker friendly campground that is 15 minutes to Skyline Drive (1/2 hour north of Charlottesville). We are centrally located and have a large area (field) where we offer rally's, meetings, camping or just get togethers.

    We are located in the center of the Shenandoah Valley area that offers an ideal starting point for rides in any direction. We have maps available for rides from 50-200 miles that will take you past historic sites, caverns, battlefields, and many of the twisting roads of the area.

    Misty Mountain Camp Resort in Virginia is easy to reach. We're close to Historic Charlottesville, Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway and many other attractions. To visit us, simply take exit number 107 Crozet from Interstate 64, then drive 1/2 mile west adn turn left onto Misty Mountain Road.

    Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, only 5 miles from scenic Natural Bridge, is a family vacation camping resort. Located on the James River nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Interstate 81 . Campers have a choice of either a waterfront site along the James River or a deeply wooded area. Each campsite has its own picnic table and fire ring.
